The 4-H Club of Dominica, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Dominica are currently undertaking a project at the Newtown Primary school in observance of World Food Day and Grow Project Open Day.
World Food Day is celebrated yearly around the world on the 16th of October in honor of the founding date of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in 1945.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organisations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The National 4-H Coordinator says the reason for this project is to encourage the students to eat healthy and to also grow what they and to eat what they grow.
This she said is in the thinking of climate resilience and producing sustainable gardens.
