Water System Improvement for Salisbury and Environs

Water woes in the Salisbury constituency could be eased following the construction of a water tank in the heights of Morne Rachette.

The water tank was commissioned following the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

Residents, particularly in Morne Rachette, have expressed concern over the poor water supply in the area.

Dominica Labour Party caretaker for the Salisbury Constituency Nichols Esprit says a new intake is also under construction in Salisbury.

As we speak work is ongoing on a new water intake for the Salisbury village because Tropical Storm Erika  destroyed severely the water system for salisbury and now we are reconstructing and rehabilitating the water intake for the Salisbury people all aimed at improving the water situation in and across the Salisbury Constituency.

He made specific mention that the intake for Salisbury is being improved currently and once completed very little problems are expected with water.

Esprit says over EC 2 million dollars has been spent on water system rehabilitation since the passage of Hurricane Maria.
