The Dominica Red Cross plans to construct 8 branch offices across the island in an effort to better respond to disasters.
According to Director General at the Dominica Red Cross Sandra Charter Rolle, these new sites will include storage facilities so that the Red Cross can respond quickly to emergencies in the event some areas are cut off.
Mrs. Charter Rolle says this is in keeping with government’s mandate to make Dominica the first climate resilient country in the world.
She spoke to Kairi news on the observance of international Red Cross Day on Wednesday.
