Trade Minister Calls On Dominicans To Rejoice With The Country’s Indigenous People For Progress Made In Kalinago Territory

Trade Minister and Member of Parliament for the Portsmouth constituency Ian Douglas is calling on Dominicans from all political persuasions to rejoice and celebrate the progress that has been made in the Kalinago Territory over the years.

He says dating back from 2015 when Tropical storm Erika effect the island, to Hurricane Maria in-* 2017 and  to the covid 19 pandemic, Dominica still continues to stand tall in the face of adversity and provide more opportunities for its people.

Douglas spoke to Kairi news at the launch of the Kalinago development Fund at the State House Wednesday where close to 1 million dollars with an additional annual 1 million to go toward a fund development for the people of the Kalinago territory.

The ceremony also saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the government of Dominica and the AID Bank towards that venture.

Douglas says it’s all about prudent management of the country finances by its leader.
