Tourism Officials Deem Dominica’s Cruise Industry as Resilient
Chief Technical Officer in the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives Rosilia Lawrence says Dominica’s cruise industry has proven its resilience as is evidenced in the Cruise Industry’s responsible return to operations which began in July of 2021, with nearly three thousand persons directly employed in this vital industry.
Lawrence says the start of the 2022/2023 cruise season eagerly awaited, was marked on November first, with some, one hundred and ninety-six calls projected.
She says this translates to three hundred and fourteen thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight passengers who are expected to visit the island.
Dominica on Thursday welcomed a new cruise vessel of the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection for the first time to its shores, with two other vessels scheduled to make their inaugural calls next week.
