The Government SafeGuards Have Strongly Contributed Towards Building Back

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the interventions and measures put in place after Tropical Storm Erika contributed towards Dominica enduring the ravages of Hurricane Maria.

Mr. Skerrit told the contract signing ceremony of $65 million US Dollars which is approximately $175.5 million EC dollars from the World Bank TODAY, Thursday.

The housing projects in Bellevue Chopin, the Roseau enhancement project and the new west bridge were testament of the measures that were put in place.

The Finance Minister says government may not have all the money in the build back resilient trust but it will start with the most critical areas.

The prime minster says further this $175.5 million EC dollars will go toward two interventions in Dominica.


In addition, Minister for Agriculture Reginald Austrie gave a breakdown of how the funds will be spent within the agriculture sector. 


Meantime, Minister in the Ministry of Housing Johnson Drigo gave the results of the Building Damage Assessment following the passage of Hurricane Maria.
