A medical team of 34 Cuban health professionals arrived at the Douglas-Charles Airport on Saturday night to assist with the direct management of COVID19.
Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit had earlier announced that the medical brigade from Cuba consisting of 25 nurses, five doctors and four lab technicians would assist Dominica’s COVID 19 response.
The team was welcomed by the Health minister Dr. Irving Mc Intyre, other government ministers and senior health officials.
Over the past days Cuba has dispatched hundreds of health workers to affected countries including to Jamaica Italy, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Suriname, Grenada and St. Kitts/Nevis.
