The Sports Division in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Community Development marks a return to school sports today Friday, April 8, 2022 as the division launches two new championships for students in the Under-19 category; the inaugural Secondary Schools T20 Cricket Championship and the Secondary Schools Netball Championship.
School sports activities were at a standstill during the earlier part of the academic year due to the closure of schools as a result of Covid-19 restrictions.
The Cricket Championship will begin with one match at 2:00 p. m. at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, where the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School will play the Castle Bruce Secondary School from 2:00 p. m.
Meantime, the netball championships will start at 3:00 p. m at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium forecourt with three matches. At 3:00 p. m the Portsmouth Secondary School (B) will take on the Dominica State College, on Court #1, at 3:30 p. m. Academix will play the Convent High School, on court #2 and the final match will see the Portsmouth Secondary School (A) take on the Dominica Grammar School, on court # 1 at 4:15 p. m.
