The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is working to improve the teaching and learning of Science in Dominican schools.
The Ministry is this week hosting a number of activities for Science Week 2019.
The week of activities will culminate with a National Science Jeopardy on Friday and feature Science Experiment Day and Community Science Day.
Education Officer, Science Samuel Owoeye (O-WHY) says the objective is to increase hands-on knowledge of students in the subject area.
He confirmed that the overall objective is for students to develop a passion for science and it’s not about the teacher but the students. He mentioned that a student oriented class is ideal for learning.
He stressed that there should be activities to encourage learning and motivate children’s participation in the subject.
