Chief Youth Development Officer, John Roach commended the role the International Organization on Migration, Samaritans Purse and IsraAid have played in Dominica’s recovery process Post-Hurricane Maria.
During his address at the certification ceremony of 14 young men and women of the South East who completed a construction training module, he gave high praise to the young people who completed the program.
Roach assured them that many construction opportunities will arise in the sector for at least the next five years.
“Usually the Youth Development Division our program goes on for 4 months sometimes 6 months and we usually have some young people dropping out of the program just before the commencement of the program.”
Roach recognized this group of young persons for their determination and seriousness for the program as 15 started the program and 14 will be certified.
Gratitude was expressed to the above mentioned agencies for specifically working with the youth, as Mr. Roach pointed out, was the most impacted sector after Hurricane Maria and they should have an active role and re-focus for country development.
