Reporting Of Child Abuse Cases Hindered By COVID-19 Impact
The impact of COVID-19 pandemic is making it difficult for victims of abuse to report their ill-treatment.
That’s the word from Jemma Azille-Lewis, who’s the Coordinator of the Child Abuse Prevention Unit of the Social Welfare Division Azille-Lewis says it has been a challenging period for both victims and her unit.
Due to social distancing protocols, Azille-Lewis noted that their outreach to homes has been restricted.
The Child Abuse Prevention Unit has responded to these challenges with innovative ways of reaching victims.
