In related news, Jolly’s Pharmacy says it is taking all precautions to protect customers after an employee tested positive for COVID 19. Jolly’s PRO Carlton Languedoc said the company has hired a cleaning company to sanitize the company’s premises and will continue to implement the strictest protocols.

Dominica now has 22 active COVID-19 cases. Health Minister Dr. Irving Mc Intyre told the Anou Palay programme on Sunday that seven new cases were confirmed on Saturday. Two patients were discharged from the COVID center over the weekend.

Government on Wednesday announced new, strict protocols for the hosting of public events. No more than 250 people can attend any event and each person must be allocated 36 square feet of standing room. He said a monitoring team will be assigned to ensure protocols are observed.

The Dominica parliament on Monday passed a measure to allow for the possession of up to twenty-eight grams or less of cannabis. National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore brought the bill to the parliament. He said the bill opens the way to review the approach to law enforcement as relates to cannabis possession.
