Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has advised bus drivers in the Portsmouth area to inform themselves on assistance available to them during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bus drivers took a decision to stay off the roads on Monday stranding passengers wishing to travel to Roseau.
The Prime Minister weighed in on the matter on Kairi’s Heng Monday.
Mr. Skerrit highlighted opportunities that currently exist for bus drivers through various fiscal measures.
Mr. Skerrit invited bus drivers to deliver a formal letter to his office in regard to their concerns, and says a meeting could be held to discuss the issue.
He reminded persons that subscribing to the Dominica Social Security is not needed to benefit from support measures placed there.
