Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has recommitted his Government to protecting the rights of Dominican citizens living abroad, to vote in general elections here.
Prime Minister Skerrit led a delegation to a meeting in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday attended by Dominicans living in the tri-state area.
He told the meeting while his Government favored electoral reform it would not strip them of their rights to vote.
Prime Minister Skerrit also told the New York Meeting the Government would, through the Dominica Social Security, implement a plan to provide housing opportunity for Dominicans living abroad.
He said, “The Dominica Social Security has over 250 acres of land in Warner… and I instructed them to proceed with developing a housing project for the working middle class in Dominica, and also for persons in the diaspora.”
