Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing Lucien Blackmoore said that following a housing assessment post Hurricane Maria only 78 houses were left unscratched.
He said that following the housing assessment 25 414 homes received some level of damage.
He said that based on the assessment only 13 637 can be easily repaired.
Blackmoore was speaking at a certificate ceremony for builders and contractors this week.
Meantime, Blackmoore said rapid housing repairs are required to assist residents across the island.
