Over 25 Fisher Folk Receive Training In Boat And Food Handlers Safety
The Ministry of Blue & Green Economy Agriculture and National Food Security’s Fisheries Division is currently undertaking its 47th training activity where Twenty-five (25) fishers will receive training in order to improve their skills in the industry.
Fisheries officer Kurt Hilton says the three-day training workshop will help integrate upcoming fisherfolk into the industry.
Food handling and preservation is a major part of the training where fishers are taught best practices to preserve their products.
Hilton says trained fishers will have the advantage of being card holders for fishing in open waters following the training.
