Opposition Leader Lennox Linton stands his ground following condemnation from OECS and local bar association
Opposition Leader Lennox Linton says he will not withdraw statements made against a High Court judge following a ruling which struck out 10 election petitions filed last week.
Linton had accused Judge Raulston Glasgow of deciding the case based on political influence.
The OECS Bar subsequently urged the Leader of the Opposition to withdraw the statement and cease and desist his irresponsible and reprehensible comments concerning Justice Glasgow.
The Dominica Bar Association also condemned Linton’s assertions and asked him to desist from making such comments which undermine the authority and integrity of democratic institutions.
On Wednesday the Opposition Leader said he maintains his position on the matter.
Linton argues the OECS and local Bars have been selective in criticizing people who speak out against the decisions of the courts.
