Opposition Leader calls for emergency legislation for approval of public funding in light of COVID19 pandemic

The Parliamentary Opposition believes putting as much money as possible into the economy as quickly as possible will help the economic stabilization effort in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leader of the United Workers Party Lennox Linton says Parliamentarians are duty bound to oversee the nation’s COVID-19 response as a matter of urgent priority.

He is recommending the passage of emergency legislation for the approval of adequate public funds to meet the needs of all the people, businesses, the institutions of government, and civil society organizations.

In his stimulus recommendations, Linton also calls for Employment Income and Business Continuity Support.
