Work on a sewerage treatment plant in Roseau is underway.
During a visit to the construction site of the Roseau River Defense Wall on Tuesday, Minister for Public Works, Water Resource Management and Ports, Dr. John Colin McIntyre, said DOWASCO is working to restore the main sewer line at the Dominica- China Friendship Bridge, adjacent to the Defense Wall project.
McIntyre said the second phase of the DOWASCO project will include a sewerage treatment plant.
Dr. McIntrye commended the people of Roseau for their patience during the project works. “I want to commend the people for really understanding the importance of this development and for being very patient, because the end product is going to be something that they can benefit from,” he said.
Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central, Joseph Isaac, who also addressed the event, said he is pleased with the ongoing works in Roseau Central.
Speaking during the site visit on Tuesday, Isaac again applauded the Prime Minister for sticking to the vision of developing the Roseau area and wider Dominica.
