National Security Minister condemns illegal entry as dangerous national threat
Illegal or ‘backdoor’ entry into Dominica is “the single most dangerous national threat to the country”.
Those were the words of National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore.
Dominica’s most recent case of Coronavirus is rumored to be an imported, illegal entry case, and Blackmoore called on the Police Force to investigate communities where this activity is suspected.
The Minister also urged citizens to cooperate with Police and provide information on cases of illegal entry.
Blackmoore says all agencies of the law are needed in order for punishment for illegal entry to reflect the dissatisfaction of the public in the act.
He warned that persons who transport individuals illegally could face up to 7 years imprisonment and a $100,000 fine.
