Music Consultant Sobers Esprit believes the Dominica Music Awards is a commendable effort to recognize the works and contributions of leading exponents of all aspects of Dominican music.

It is a welcome step toward building a global music brand for Dominica for which positive rewards can be derived and bring about economic empowerment and higher visibility for Dominica as a destination that inspires and sustains artists.

Esprit was speaking at the media launch of the Dominica music awards ceremony at the Alliance Francaise building on Tuesday.
