Minister Of Finance Commits 120 Thousand Dollars Towards Morne Anglais Enchanted Garden And Flower Show
Dominica’s Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Roosevelt Skerrit has pledged an annual subvention of 100 thousand dollars toward the Giraudel Annual Flower show and general upkeep of the new Morne Anglais Enchanted Garden
The prime minister along with the minister of tourism Denise Charles, the permanent sectary in the ministry of Tourism and parliamentary representative for the Roseau South Constituency Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite recently visited the 2.6 acres of land of the flower show site.
The officials also met with the events coordinator Shirley Alexander and members of the Giraudel /Eggleston Flower Growers Group.
A walk through of the site was conducted and a meeting held to discuss the needs of the much talked about flower show.
The prime minister also made an additional commitment of 20 thousand dollars the Flower Growers Group to purchase seedlings for the propagation of the plants.
Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South constituency Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite says the subvention of 100 thousand l dollars will be used for the maintenance of the site and to take care of various expenses surrounding the Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show
Hypolite says the intention is to use the flower show site as botanic Center opened to visitors and local alike
