Minister of Finance Roosevelt Skerrit defends his cabinet’s approach towards the country’s needs.
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Roosevelt Skerrit is calling for a collective approach in addressing issues confronting Dominica.
Mr. Skerrit in defending his cabinet’s approach towards the needs of the country post Hurricane Maria, says he has met with all of the major employers in Dominica including those who are out of state in devising ways of getting business back on track in Dominica following the hurricane.
Mr. Skerrit spoke at the National Consolation called by Government with the public and private sectors on rebuilding Dominica as the first climate resilient country.
Mr Skerrit says there needs to be honesty among Dominicans the private sector must also be willing to say publicly that they have had meetings with the Minister of Finance and Prime Minister on the way forward for Dominic post hurricane maria.
The Prime minister says while it may be true that donors and partners have come on board in helping Dominica in its rebuilding efforts, the bigger part of the job will still have to be done by Dominicans.
