The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) is undertaking a 1 million EC dollars sewerage improvement project in the city of Roseau.
Public Relations Officer Edward Registe says the project is intended to make the system more resilient following the impact of Hurricane Maria.
“The new project will include the construction of a new lift station which will be equipped with two sewage pumps and a sewer chewer. The pumps will be modernized sewer pumps…” he said.
Registe indicated that a pipeline which runs under the Roseau River must be repaired in order to reconnect sections of the pipeline.
He also said that traffic diversion will occur in Roseau in order to facilitate the works.
