Newly launched United Workers Party candidates for the next general elections say they will focus on the creation of economic opportunities for citizens if elected to office.
Rosanna Emmanuel, a former Ross University employee was on Friday launched as the candidate for Petite Savanne; and Clement Marcellin, an employee of the Dominica Cooperative Societies League on Saturday declared his candidacy for Vieille Case.
Marcellin said he would look to transform the economy of the Northern constituency, focusing on agriculture, renewable energy and youth development.
Meantime Rosanna Emmanuel says among her plans is the improvement of road infrastructure.
She said a UWP government would reopen to the Delice to Petite Savanne Road to boost economic activity in the area.
