Dominica Labor Party Advisor, Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan says an ongoing incitement matter in the courts against Opposition Leader Lennox Linton is following due process and has been handled fairly.
Linton was charged with obstruction and incitement in relation to public disturbances which followed a United Workers Party public meeting in Roseau on February 2017.
Astaphan says the matter has been handled in a transparent manner.
“Government got investigators from the regional security services as other governments have one with serious matters that require some expertise and independence or impartiality to conduct the investigation. Any by bringing in lawyers form Trinidad rather than Dominicans who may have affiliation with the United Workers Party of the Dominica Labour Party,” Astaphan said.
He advises that Linton should allow the matter follow due process.
“He has a lawyer. Let the process take its course,” Astaphan concluded.
