Launching of DLP Candidate Postponed
Prime Minister and Leader of the Dominica Labour Party Roosevelt Skerrit, has announced a new date for the launching of the candidate for the Morne Jaune Riviere Cyrique Constituency, Greta Roberts.
Roberts, the former school principal and now local UNESCO Secretary General, was due to be presented at the party’s first candidate launching this coming Sunday in Grand Fond.
Prime Minister Skerrit expressed that due to religious concerns the date has been changed to April 28th.
“Plans for the candidate launch in the Morne Jaune, Rivere Cyrique,Grand Fond constituency we well on the way, but yesterday i got a call from a respected religious leader, who thought it unfortunate that the event would have coincided with palm Sunday observances.I have not spoken with the party’s executive, but in sure they will agree with me that we do not need a clash of that nature at this time.”
He confirmed that all official DLP activities will be observed until after the Easter observances.
