Hunting Season is now open!
The ban on wildlife hunting has been lifted from October 1st to November 13th 2020, and during that period, licensed hunters may only hunt Crabs and all members of the Gercarcinidae/ land crab family), Agouti and Manicou/ Opossums.
The Forestry, Parks & Wildlife Division says it is illegal to hunt freshwater fish and wildlife without a license, and encouraged interested citizens to purchase licences.
Finally, hunters have been cautioned that beyond November 30, persons found selling and exporting wildlife will be prosecuted by law.
Hunters must also note that the hunting of all other species of animal than those indicated, including the Mountain Chicken, all Birds and Iguanas is strictly prohibited.
