Jars Sales and Services – Materials & Methods to Withstand Hurricanes

Home owners here will have a better understanding of what to expect and how to go about reconstructing their homes in manner that can withstand a category five hurricane… thanks to Jars Engineering Services.

Steve Astaphan of Jars sales and Services says his Jars will partner with an overseas based company Simpson Product in bringing to Dominica the knowledge, skills, tools and material required for reconstruction.

These will be displayed to home owners, builders, contractors other tradesmen and the general public at a Housing and construction symposium in Dominica next week.

Astaphan says another key area that would need to be enforced is the security aspect and that he says is where the Dominica Bureau of standards would need to step in.

According to Astaphan says there is still a lot of work to be done and it’s no fault of Dominicans if the next hurricane season meets houses still uncovered as there were several hiccups along the way from shortage of  materials including banking and insurance issues that Dominicans have had to deal with.

The symposium will be held during the first week of April
