Residents on the West Coast have been told to exercise extra caution during the dry season as there is an increased chance of bush fires.
Public Relations Officer of the Fire and Ambulance Service Wayne Letang says the West coast communities are particularly vulnerable to fires.
He stated that this is mainly because of the dryness of the vegetation during this time of year where fires are more easily started.
Letang also made mention that houses are now being constructed in areas they were not usually, leading to the potential fire danger when vegetation becomes alight.
Residents on the West Coast are asked to take extreme caution and safe fire practices.
