Newly launched Dominica Labour Party candidate for the Morne Jaune Riviere Cyrique constituency Gretta Roberts has pledged to work to better the lives of her constituents, if elected to office.
At her official launch on Sunday, Roberts, a former school principal told supporters she was ready to take up the challenge of leadership to bring development to the area.
“Let us aspire to be a community where development is evident, where students excel act school, prepared to live as global citizens, where our community is self-sufficient and where community spirit is the order of the day,” Roberts said.
Roberts says she is confident that change is already evident within the constituency.
“Improving access to our roads, to our village remains one of our greatest accomplishments.
“I am the change this constituency needs and you have already begun to witness that change and this is just the beginning,” Roberts said.
Meantime Prime Minister Skerrit has endorsed Ms. Roberts’ candidacy, saying she has proven herself with a solid record as an educator and school administrator.
