The Dominica Labour Party’s Candidate for the Wesley Constituency Fidel Grant has highlighted agriculture, housing and small business creation as three of his priority areas for development.
Grant was officially presented to the electorate at a June 16th rally in Wesley.
The son of a farmer, he pledged to help restore economic empowerment to farmers in the constituency, who despite severe hardship following the loss of EU preferential treatment, continue to produce food for the local and regional markets.
In his wide-ranging statement which included plans for tourism, health, community and sports development, he also urged constituents to be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities that will come with an international airport.
Grant is a former Finance Manager at the National Development Foundation of Dominica.
He says the Wesley Constituency is packed with potential for small business development.
He pledged to work with small business owners and budding entrepreneurs on goods and services that can be provided by the constituency.
