Government to Provide More Support to Residents of the East Affected by Weather System
Residents of the east affected by the recent weather system will receive financial support from the government to ease the financial burden of families struggling to recover.
That’s according to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit following his latest visit to the east on Wednesday.
Government has already provided emergency supplies to residents while road clearing works continue and utility companies work tirelessly to restore water access and electricity to the area.
The Prime Minister says impacted farmers will also receive support.
Prime Minister Skerrit says government continues its efforts to mitigate against the impact of climate change in Dominica.
He says, government is spending 127 million dollars on roadworks in the east.
The Prime minister went on to note, the relocation of several families is also on the cards.
He says government is fully committed to building new resilient homes as it has in the past.
