Government to pass legislations to benefit small to medium sized businesses

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says Government will this year pass legislation to facilitate assistance to small and medium sized businesses.

Mr. Skerrit announced this week that a 30 million dollar loan facility will be announced in the upcoming budget for business owners, at 1 percent.

Mr. Skerrit says the accompanying legislation is being formulated.

Meantime, the Prime Minister is also proposing that small business operators should take courses to better educate themselves on how to run a business.

Skerrit laments that several businesses are not registered which makes it difficult to assist the small business community.

He believes that business owners must operate differently if they wish to see growth in their business ventures.

The prime minister stressed the importance of record keeping. He said that too, is often overlooked.
