Government To Award Thea Lafond $200K for Performance at Recent Championships

Government will award national athlete Thea Lafond with two hundred thousand dollars for her performance at the commonwealth games and the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships.

Lafond took silver at the commonwealth games earlier this year and gold at the NACAC Championships last evening in the Women’s Triple Jump Event.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit made the announcement during this morning’s parliamentary session.

Meantime, Minister for Sport Roslyn Paul, recognized the athlete’s performance and went on to acknowledge the performance of other national athletes.
