Government Seeking To Implement Measures To Reduce Gas Prices
Soaring gas prices due to the ongoing Russia/Ukraine war has prompted governments across the world to look for solutions to shield consumers from the financial strain.
These moves reflect the economic and political risks governments see in the current energy spike, which has been driven by a rebound in fuel demand since the darkest days of the coronavirus pandemic and supply disruptions in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says government is currently seeking to implement measures to mitigate against rising fuel prices.
According to the prime minister, government will meet with stakeholders to ensure these measures will benefit consumers on the island.
