Government reports progress on Geothermal Plant

Plans are progressing smoothly toward the construction of Dominica’s first Geothermal Plant.

That’s according to Minister for Trade, Energy and Employment Ian Douglas.

Douglas notes that Dominica has secured funding from the World Bank to begin construction within the next 18 months, and that is on stream.

The Energy Minister says the passage of hurricane Maria in 2017 did little to delay the progress of the plant and negotiations are being finalized for a Power Purchase agreement.
