The Ministry of Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development has invested in fishing and farming in two eastern communities in efforts to boost the rural economy.
The projects were launched in Castle Bruce and Grand Fond on Wednesday with fishing equipment and feed provided for Castle Bruce.
Minister Roslyn Paul said the objective is to boost livelihoods and build food security.
Meanwhile the Ministry has supported the establishment of the Greenwich Farming Enterprise in Grandfond with support for organic vegetable farming and poultry production.
Dominica Labour Party candidate for the Grand Fond Constituency Greta Roberts praised Government’s investment in the agriculture sector saying the initiative would give young people an outlet for economic development.
