Government has announced a 7-day lockdown on the heels of a COVID-19 cluster discovered over the weekend.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit made the announcement in an address to the nation from Parliament this morning.
He says the measures are being put in place not to scare, but to safeguard the public as this cluster is a lot more contagious with infected individuals presenting with flu-like symptoms.
Mr. Skerrit also announced in addition to the curfew, safety protocols to include the closing of non-essential businesses.

He urged the public to adhere to the newly implemented measures as there will be zero tolerance for defiant behavior.
Currently, there are 12 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 on the island.
