Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced Government is near a decision on proposals to fund an international airport located in the Wesley Constituency.
Addressing the launch of Fidel Grant, the DLP candidate for Wesley on Sunday, Prime Minister Skerrit says he is now assessing at least 5 solid proposals.
“I will not shout out names from the public platform this evening but I can share with you this evening at least five solid proposals that I have in my armor for the design, financing, construction and operation of an international airport for Dominica.
“I have firm solid proposals from a firm in China, from India, from Dubai, from two multi-lateral agencies and from independent developers in Europe and the Americas. We have been in negotiations with them because we need to ensure that that which we enter into today can be maintained by us tomorrow and the next week,” the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Skerrit said the airport will be located in the Wesley constituency.
He said negotiations for land acquisition would begin soon.
