The government has reviewed and amended the e-passport transitioning period in an effort to keep up with a rapidly technologically advancing world.
The New passport booklet has 50 pages and is printed with a modern and aesthetic design that reflects the nature of Dominica and displays the country’s landmarks, flora, and fauna, and are more water-resistant.
Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore, says machine-readable passports will be phased out by August 31, 2022, instead of the original end date of July 2023.
Blackmoore explained, government’s decision to move up the transition date stems from a desire to create more secure travel documents which are acceptable worldwide.
