Frederick on East Coast Road Project

Salybia MP, Cozier Frederick has reported that work will get underway soon on the highly anticipated East Coast Road project.

The project to repair 20.5km of roadway will be completed in two phases or lots: Lot 1 will restore the stretch of road from Tarish Pit to Castle Bruce, and Lot 2 will continue from Castle Bruce to Hatton Gardens in Pagua.

Frederick said residents living along the roadway who will be affected by the project have been paid over $2 million in compensation.

To prepare for road works, construction of the Contractor’s offices in Pagua has begun, along with other initial activities.

Frederick highlighted economic advantages that the project will bring to Dominica, with millions of dollars expected to circulate here during the construction process.

He urged residents along the roadway to take advantage of the potential financial benefits.
