Five Students to Represent Dominica at Global Robotics Competition
Five students of the Dominica State College will represent Dominica at an international robotics competition in Dubai this week.
The annual “FIRST Global Challenge” Competition is one which uses science and technology to address global environmental problems, and this year it will be held from October 24 to 27.
The event will assemble more than one thousand five hundred youth from over one hundred and ninety-one countries to collaborate, create and compete for a better future.
Dominica will be represented for the third time by five students of the Dominica State College robotics team: Krish Sharma, Kodie Jean- Jacques, Briana Laudat, Kieyah Lawrence and Charleson Gilbert. These students will be presenting a robot.
Their robot is capable of collecting and delivering objects, lifting itself and it is mobile. Their participation in the FIRST Global Challenge serves as a reminder of the real-world challenges related to cleaning up the world’s oceans.
The DSC also expressed thanks to key sponsors and stakeholders of Dominica’s participation in this competition.
