Administrator of the Fatima Parish Alvin Knight has apologized over concerns that a political event was allowed on church grounds on Saturday April 27.
Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency Joshua Francis held a health fair in the front yard of the Fatima Church with 10 doctors seeing residents for quick health checks.
Responding to questions raised by supporters of the ruling Dominica Labour Party, Knight said though he gave permission for the activity, he did not expect it to turn as political.
Meanwhile Joshua Francis said the activity was a success despite opposition.
He argues that the church grounds belong to the people of Newtown and Dominica and there should be no fear of allowing the opposition party access to public spaces.
