One of the tourist attraction sites in the north of the island the famous Indian River Bridge has received a facelift as part of activities to mark community day of service-thanks to the efforts of a Dominican living in the diaspora, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and the parliamentary representative for Portsmouth Ian Douglas
MP Douglas told Kairi TV on Community Day of Service the railings of the bridge have become unsightly over time as it was felt that something should be done to bring them back to their original state of attraction.
Portsmouth resident Dupuis now based in the US has chosen to spend time and money on beautifying the sides of the bridge on a regular basis.
Douglas says the walls along the bridge will serve as a mural or hall of fame of persons who have left an indelible mark on the town of Portsmouth from Politicians to Doctors, media personalities, boat owners and musicians among others.
