Executive Director of DAIC Confident that 2022 Brought Challenges but also valuable Lessons Learned

Executive Director of the DAIC Lizra Fabien says this past year brought several wins as well as challenges to the association from which lessons were learned and strength gained.

Fabien says the greatest challenges experienced was the loss of Executive Assistant of the Chamber at that time, Daniel Panthier on February 26th.

She says this loss was heartfelt by many connected to the Chamber and encouraged all to pause, celebrate and acknowledge the life of Daniel and the valuable contribution he made to the Chamber, including his notable customer service.

As a result of this loss she says the association has welcomed additional members to the team who have been contributing to the great work of the Chamber and expresses gratitude to Kersha Floissac, Kelvida David and Valerie Alexander for their valuable support to the Chamber as part of the Secretariat.

She adds that during this past year there’s been several positive experiences and milestones for the Chamber as it continued to create a platform for members to gain insights from and engage with key stakeholders, including the Honourable Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit.

Fabien says in 2022, the Chamber represented the interests of its membership and business community locally, regionally and globally, contributing to key discussions, provided insights and gained knowledge on various topics to include Disaster Risk Reduction, business resilience, enhancing trade and business opportunities across regions, enhancing public, private sector and humanitarian collaboration, leveraging multi-hazard early warning systems for enhanced business resilience, and more.

She adds that these engagements have enhanced their relevant products and services as a Chamber and, during this New Year, though facing challenges, look forward to the Chamber continuing to provide relevant and timely opportunities to members through enhanced advocacy, increased access to finance, business development, business promotion, networking and many more; having also begun developing a cutting edge website and membership platform to engage, interact and communicate information with the membership.
