Education Minister Octavia Alfred is urging increased focus on Math Education in Dominican schools.

This as the Ministry of Education observes International Mathematics Day under the theme Mathematics for a Better World.

The Minister said the education ministry was aiming to empower teachers to be more effective math instructors.
