DOWASCO Promises a More Resilient Water System

The Dominica water and sewerage company DOWASCO has assured customers and the general public of the resiliency of its storage tanks following the devastation of its intakes by Hurricane Maria,

The company will undertake several upgrades to its system in effort to store sufficient water should there be any disaster that could affect the system

Public relations officer at DOWASCO Kimani St Jean said that the new system will solve several issues especially in areas where customers have been complaining of low or now water pressure because of silt infiltration.

She was guest on KairiFm’s Riding The Storms on Monday night.

She said that while it’s something they do not like doing, in certain cases DOWADCO will have no choice but to shut off the system in an effort to protect the already clean water that is stored

Meanwhile St Jean has some advice to customers on how to treat water during the season or heavy rainfall.
