Dominica’s Rivers Water Under Threat

Dominica’s rivers water may be under threat from the devastation caused to the island forest and rivers from Hurricane Maria.

The water from several of the Island Rivers may be evaporating as the dry season approaches and because of damages caused to the forest leaving the river exposed to the sun

The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) is therefore making a special appeal to Dominica to conservewater as much as possible and avoid using the water inappropriately.

Public relations officer of DOWASCO Edward Registe says consumers in Castle comfort, Wall House and several other areas are affected by low water pressure or no water at all as a result.
