Dominica’s Prime Minister has called on citizens to take responsibility for hurricane preparedness efforts in their communities.
At the handover ceremony of a 2.3 million dollar Hurricane Shelter in Layou this week, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said while Government is making strides disaster preparedness, citizens must complement those efforts by working toward resilience in their communities.
According to Mr. Skerrit, simple preparations can prevent larger problems during a disaster.
Mr. Skerrit also advised the Private Sector to begin preparations for business safety and continuity.
